Depends on the age of the minor and the policy of the MD, some have decided that the sharing or medical info after the age of 14 needs the patients consent.

The link will show you a tremendous amount of information and it is dated June 2004. However, it’s pretty common that minors (age of majority is 18 in Nevada) can consent to medical treatment as long as they know the possible risks, probably outcome and they understand the procedures.
This is the case in most jurisdictions because health authorities are more interested in keeping communicable diseases under control than in getting kids’ parents mad at them.
I know this is the case in Canada but some States have gotten kind of weird under the Bush years….
If you want to be 100% certain, call your local health unit, hospital or any doctor’s office and simply ask the question.
