How do i convince my parents to let me get the hpv virus vaccination shots?
I want to get the shots to prevent me from getting hpv. I am not going to be sexually active, but i getting the shot will be like a “security blanket” to me. My dad thinks thats a stupid reason so i need a convincing argument to let me get the shots. Can you give me some acceptable reasons why a girl shoud et the shots even if she isnt going to be sexually active? Thanks!

Honestly you don’t have to be sexually active to contract HPV. You can get it from a toilet seat. Tell your parents that you dont want to get cervical cancer because of a disease that could have been prevent a significant amount and tell them they can ask the doctors all the questions. I’m not sexually active and my doctor recommended me to get it to keep me safe. Hope I helped(:

It is very rare but you can get HPV without having sex, if any skin that has come into contact with HPV touches you can get it. My doctor even said when I got my last pap that she has seen HPV in kids and virgins. Also HPV causes all warts getting the vaccination will stop you from getting warts in other places as well.

(not that i support waiting but if you don’t have health care right now you might want to look into health care plans and see if it will cover it. The shots range from $90-$250 a piece and there are three of them.)
