How do I ask my sexual partner to get checked for genital warts?

He has had his blood tested, but I know that visual examination is often needed for something like genital warts. How do I ask him to be checked?

I should add that he doesn’t have bumps on the actual penis, but there is one in the pubic area.

First of all, you have to be honest to your partner. Its your own sake too. Don’t be afraid. Tell everything you wanna talk about.

Hopefully you feel comfortable talking with your sexual partner. Have you actually seen the blood test results? It should say negative for HPV. Genital warts on males can cause cervical cancer in females and there are about 100 different strains of HPV. Yes, a visual exam could be helpful but in some cases genital warts remain dormant. They can resurface at anytime. The best way for you to proceed is to get a pap smear and make sure it is normal. Dysplasia would show that you have been exposed to genital warts. Definitely explain to your partner the importance of the matter. Good luck and feel free to email me if you have any questions.
