Does Aldara cream when used for genital warts help you fight the virus or just get rid of warts?? Confused!?
I have been using Aldara cream for a small amount of genital warts (I’m female) for about 1 week now. I’ve done some research since I started using it, but I’m confused, I know it’s helping me get rid of the warts (I already see the results), but does it help you fight the virus? Someone knowledgeable please tell me what exactly it does! Also, If the cream gets inside my vagina (just a little bit) then is it really dangerous? Because, it’s kinda difficult to avoid that!

There is no cure for a virus, ever. That’s the difference between a bacteria and a virus in a nutshell. You could take antibiotics to get rid of a bacterial infection, but you can’t take medication to get rid of a viral infection. You can treat the symptoms with meds, but it won’t get rid of the virus itself. So no, this cream is not getting rid of the warts, but it is helping your body deal with the warts themselves.
The way this medication works is not very well understood, but it elicits an immune response at the site of application. You need to be really careful when you are applying it, and do your best to avoid getting the cream on sensitive areas like your vagina.

I’m afraid that the cream does nothing to fight the virus, it only helps get rid of the existing warts. There is no cure for them once you get them, the virus is always present.
Getting a little of the cream in the vagina is normal and will not hurt you.~

Don’t waste your time with that cream. Go to the doctor and have him burn them off. They handle it much quicker and then they heal very quickly as well.
