Could This Be Genital Herpes? Or Something Else?

Two nights ago I had bleeding during sex so I took a mirror to see if I had a cut or something in or around my vagina that would cause it. What I found was a small greyish/white spot (about half the size of an eraser on a pencil) that obviously wasn’t supposed to be there.
I went to the doctor and he decided to do all the tests for STDs and told me that he doesn’t really know what it is (doesn’t look like typical symptoms of anything), but that a few things that come to mind are syphilis and herpes. I definitely dont think (after reading) that it’s syphilis, but if it is, antibiotics will help.
Herpes is confusing me though. Everything I’m reading says that most people get symptoms but some don’t … and if you ARE going to be someone who gets symptoms it would happen within about a week or two of contracting the virus.
But I have been with the same person for years. I know you all are going to say maybe he’s not being faithful, but I know for a fact that isn’t an option. We’ve dealt with some other health concerns and I know that if he was cheating it wouldn’t go to anything sexual. It just wouldn’t.
So could this really be herpes? In my system for years without even knowing it and JUST getting symptoms now?
I know I’m overthinking things but I won’t get results back from the doctor for days and all these online medical sites are driving me crazy.

sounds like it could be a skin tear. if you were having rough sex or you werent well lubricated the irritation could just be healing. the scab could look whitish considering that is a moist environment. put some a & d ointment on it and if it doesnt go away it could be viral. the WORST thing you can do is stress which could make a potential herpatic breakout that much worse. if you dont feel like you have the flu or feel weak and tired chances are its just a tear. refrain from any penetration until all healed. good luck sista.

The big difference to help distinguish between herpes and syphilis is that herpes lesions are very painful and syphilis bumps don’t hurt at all.
About 70-80% of people with any STI never have symptoms and STIs can be dormant for years, you don’t always get symptoms right away.

you can have herpes for years and not have an outbreak. so it doesn’t mean your bf or hubby is cheating on you. if it spreads i’d get it checked out. i started with one and my hubby said it was a pimple and he popped it and the next morning i had like 20 of them. i went to the drs and they told me i could have had it for 6 years and never knew it or never even had an outbreak.
