Could She Have Contracted Genital Herpes?

A friend of mine had her yearly done and found out she may have genital herpes. They did do a test but in the mean time she’s freaking out. She has a yeasts infection and a lot of red-ish bumps (the doctor think they are herpes) that she says hurts and itches like hell. She had dated a guy back in January or February that was infected with genital herpes but they NEVER had sex nor did she ever touch him. He how ever did touch her with his hands… my question is that if for some reason he touched him self and then touched her with out washing his hands, could she have contracted his herpes. I don’t believe he did oral on her but that’s also another possibility. Were just trying to find out how this happened!

Herpes has a trait called viral shedding. At all times, a person with herpes (oral or genital) is producing the virus, and it is possible to pass it on by contact. This is nothing new. But sometimes all it takes is casual contact to contract it.
My fiancé contracted her herpes while on the high school wrestling team. The guy she wrestled had a cold sore. They both had their uniforms on (obviously), but were in close contact. Two months later was her first outbreak.
So yes, it IS possible she contracted it from him with just casual (but intimate) contact.
