As long as you are absolutely positive that neither of you has been with anyone else, then you cannot have or get sexually transmitted strains of HPV. Remember HPV is a virus that causes all warts on any part of your body. There are over 100 all together.

What you can still get though is cervical cancer. It just won't be attributed to HPV. It is caused by the cells you already have in your cervix changing and those changes turning malignant. Whether you are sexually active or not, once you are 18 years of age, you must have regular pap smears to reduces your chances of naturally developing cervical cancer.

If your boyfriend has been with no one else, there are no viruses he can pass from his genitals to you.

There is another way to get viruses transmitted to your genitals though and that is through oral sex. If your boyfriend has an oral herpes virus (coldsores - active or inactive) in his system and he performs oral sex on you, and if you don't have the same strain of herpes virus as him on your mouth already, then he CAN send his coldsores from his mouth, straight to your genitals.

Coldsores are then known as genital herpes but they are the same thing just in a different location.
