Can My Genital Warts Cause Me Health Problems?
I was sexually assaulted and infected with genital warts. I have been in a deep depression.
Can my warts cause cancer? Can they cause intertility? Currently, they are only on the outside of my vagina but could they move into my vagina and cervix?
What happens if they move in?
help me

Despite what people say, this is a condition that isn’t curable, but is treatable. Answers to your questions are yes and yes. But these can be managed properly, and people do live fairly normal lives. This is a fairly prevalent problem and more people have them than you think. See your doctor before the condition worsens.

I have them too, but I don’t have as many as it sounds like you have.
Having genital warts does slightly increase your risk of cervical cancer– so you should definitely get tested for that, no matter how embarrassing.
Yes they could move into your vagina– you should talk about that with your doctor. I don’t think it is a problem if they move in, unless you get pregnant. Again, I’m not 100% on that so talk to your doctor.
I know it’s super embarrassing but you’ll feel so much better after you talk to your doctor. I did!!!

DO you know about HPV? Human papiloma virus. This is the virus that you were actually infected with, which then caused you to have genital warts. So having HPV is what will put you at risk of getting other health conditions such as cervical cancer or cervical cell changes. You need to get treatment for them and learn how to control your symptoms and get regular checkups so that this doesnt become too much of a problem.
