no it cant. herpes virus is not able to live outside the human body and since is genital herpes there is no risk of getting infectted by mouth only if you practice oral sex without protection or kiss someone with oral herpes when having an outbreak

You can get herpes if that friend had an open sore->your wife drank from the same cup->and your wife went down on you=there may be a chance of getting herpes….herpes is herpes there’s different kinds.

I dont think so, but what a *****. I think its really rude of her to drink from your wife when she knew she had a virus. That is really disgusting. Now you & your wife should be very cautious from now on. TREAT EVERYONE as if they were infected. That is the way I am b/c I work at a hospital! Hope everything is okay!

Lol…no Hun, it can not be passed that way. You must have direct physical contact with the genitals in order to pass that virus. The only way to pass an std to the mouth is by oral sex. So unless that happened and then she drank from the cup and then your wife happened to have a cut in her mouth and drank directly after her, then I would say it might be possible but it’s very unlikely. From now on, make sure you bleach your toilets if she ever uses them. Better paranoid than bumpy, I always say. Good Luck.

January 25th, 2010 at 9:32 pm
yes, it can be passed if you drank in your neighbor’s vagina or sucked her husband’s penis.
this genital herpes will now become oral herpes.

Of course not….if they had a cold sore on their mouth that could be passed on from sharing the drink but certainly not gential herpes…that would require having sex with them!
January 26th, 2010 at 7:56 am
no it can’t. so don’t worry
January 26th, 2010 at 1:59 pm
No….only if her lips have puss-filled sores on ‘em.
January 26th, 2010 at 3:42 pm
Is this a joke? Unless you drink from your genitals NO!
January 26th, 2010 at 8:54 pm
genital herpes no, it takes sexual avtivity to spread genital herpes , but oral herpes can be passed that way if they have an active or shedding cold sore at the time.
January 27th, 2010 at 3:46 am
no, why do you think its called GENITAL herpes!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
January 27th, 2010 at 5:10 am
Genital Herpes is a virus that can be passed through sexual contact. You can get genital herpes by having sex with someone who has open sores and when someone has no sores. However, herpes is most contagious when a person has open sores.
you dont have to worry

Genital herpes is not transferred orally like that. It has to have genital contact to spread.
However, if the woman also has active cold sores around her mouth, those do spread. It’s a different virus, but in the herpes family. But she won’t develop genital herpes from it.

no!
January 27th, 2010 at 2:14 pm
Nope. You’re safe.
January 27th, 2010 at 4:48 pm
not unless you were served the drink with the others genitals
January 27th, 2010 at 8:03 pm
No…
And for the record. If you have herpes on your privates, it’s Herpes Complex. If you have near your mouth, it’s Herpes Simplex.
If you have it both places, it’s Herpes Duplex.

Telling your partner you’ve got genital herpes could be one from the hardest points about being diagnosed with the disease. No matter whether you might have been together for many years, or you’re just commencing out, the conversation will be difficult–but it’s just one you’ll want to have.
