I had a couple tests done for herpes, and I am + for type 1, – for type 2. I have cold sores sometimes, so I’m assuming that’s why the test was +… but how do I know I don’t also have it genitally? I have strange symptoms below, tingling, crawling… but no sores or blisters.

I need to know so I can go to get testing please help me out i will like to know if i can go the next day after having sex or not

my boyfriend had a cold sore around his mouth and performed oral sex on me, i then broke out in sores down there..i had a blood test taken at the doctor’s and i tested positive for herpes 1 and negative for herpes 2. does this mean i have genital herpes? and i’m prone to outbreaks etc?

I’m just curious, say you were infected today- would it immediately show up on a test? I know many stds have a long incubation period and sometimes never show physically, but what about on a urine or blood test?

I had two abnormal pap smears in a row, and then a third that came back normal. I asked my doctor about the HPV DNA testing, but they told me it was “not common and too expensive.” I have crappy insurance through my university, so I really don’t know where to turn. I’d really like to get this lab work done to find out if I have a high risk HPV. Thank you.

I know that most people who have herpes are without symptoms. If you have “dormant” genital herpes, will it still show up in a blood test?

I had unprotected sex a few days ago and just to be on the safe side, I was thinking about getting tested for chlamydia/gonorrhea. Do I have to wait a few weeks to ensure an accurate result? And can it still test positive even if I don’t have any symptoms?

If you slept with someone who had it the night before and then went and got tested the next day, does it infect you that fast?
