My wife had a pap smear done end of 2008, resulting in low-grade form of HPV (my fault). 5 months later, she took another pap smear and results were negative for HPV. I thought it takes longer for the body to fight it off, if at all possible. Does this make sense, or is there an error somewhere? Now, thank God, she’s 5 months pregnant.

I had a pap smear done a couple of weeks ago and it came back normal. However, I have previously diagnosed genital warts and I was having a flare up when I had the pap done.

How is this possible for it to be normal?

My gf is in her mid twenties and told me she gets Pap smears every 6 months. I’m not an expert, but that seems like a high frequency. Is this suggestive of having a previous condition or infection of HPV?

2 years ago i had my yearly pap done and it came back normal. And a year ago i had another one and it came back abnormal. I had a colposcopy and a biopsy done i tested positive for HPV. I have only had sex with two people and in between got a pap done but was told all clear. Now that Ive slept with someone else its been a year and I got my pap results back with HPV. Does that mean it came from my current boyfriend? Or could it still have come from my previous boyfriend?

If pap is normal but hpv virus is present in body .
I searched websites & also consulted gyn ,who suggested no treatment is available to get rid of hpv virus(sometimes body fights it off ) , just getting pap done regularly to watch abnormality . But there must be some remedies available to avoid abnormal cell development & getting hpv away.

I just got one done a few months ago along with a chlamydia and ghonnorea test. Everything came back negative but my BF tested positive for genital warts.

I went to the GP after a second set of abnormal results on my smear test and she asked if I’d ever had genital warts. I’ve never had anything worse than thrush and she said that I could be carrying the infection and thats why its given two sets of abnormal results, but what does this mean with my partner, have I given it to him and he could get the warts then even though I’ve never had them? Can you naturally carry the infection without having contracted it from someone?? I’m so confused and my doctor is no use to talk to.
