Anybody, I appreciate the feedback, but this has nothing to do with my primary physician. I see a female for pelvic exams and I was just curious. By the way, I am letting the whole crush go as I know it is never going to happen and it shouldn’t ever happen. I don’t want to lose a good doctor as they are hard to find.

I went to a doctor who told me I had a wart by the opening of my vagina, but the pap smear came back clean. A HPV test wasn’t done with the pap smear because it came back clean.

when i got my pap done they told me that it was for HPV and all other STD’s, but do they check for all types HPV or just cervical cancer?
ok…so the doctor told me they would call me if anything was abnormal or positive….so since the doctor didnt call me back, does that mean i am clear of cervical cancer or HPV?

Does HPV go away? Will my partner have it also? How does it affect my baby? I’m really frusturated because it seems as if everytime i go to the dr its always something different. Im beginning to not be able to handle it emotionally now. Would you please pass on your knowledge on HPV?

Is it detectable right away or is there a period of time where it’s not detectable? If so, how long is that period?

They said there is no cure for the virus but that it should go away after 8 months. I was wondering if it’ll show on every pap smear that I have the virus HPV ?

How early can a pap smear test detect any type of HPV after having intercourse with a person who might have carried it?

so for example, if a man found out that he potentially carries HPV and his current sexual partner might have it now, too, how soon can the virus be detected for her or would it be able to be detected right after they began having intercourse?

I’m nearly 10 weeks pregnant and had a smear and std swab at the advise of my doctor just to make sure everything was ok, but is this safe to have?? I’m just worrying now i guess!

I saw a patient who tested positive for gonorrhea and she was upset because she didn’t want to be tested nor did she know STD testing was going to be done. Is this because STD testing is just included as the standard-of-care for sexually active women at risk or did she need to give consent to STD testing first?

I was just diagnosed with HPV virus. I had a pap smear in October of last year and wasn’t diagnosed with it then. I want to know if it’s possible that I had it and it didn’t show up in the pap smear. If it is possible, how likely is it that that could have happened.
