I know it’s a strange question. But if I wash the herpes infected areas at night and let my washcloth dry out, is it OK to wash my face in the morning with the same cloth? Or is there still a risk of getting the virus in my eyes or even coldsores?

My friend was diagnosed with it about 4 months ago, but has not gone away, just gotten better but not completely and then comes back. The doctor tested her last week or so for other things, but she is waiting on the results, and she was negative for any stds besides herpes. We would like to know if anyone with herpes has experienced it for long periods of time even while taking medications, or if someone has an idea of what else she could have…fungus of any sort??? We just found out that a co-worker has genital herpes, and though we do not want to treat her any different, we are worried that we all share the same bathroom(which only has one stall) We don’t want to be stupid about this either and say something that will make her feel uncomfartable, but we all have kids and partners that would not be too happy if we come home with an STD. (also one of the girls in the office is pregnant) So my question is can genital herpes be passed on by any other ways other than sexual contact? Please only give us seroius answers. I think I was infected with genital herpes about 2 weeks ago. I have been having sores since about 5 days after i was infected. They are red bumps, but now I think new ones are forming. Can this happen? I thought you only have the origional sores which eventually heal and then the outbreak is over…?

I have genital herpes and I have only had one outbreak. I am constantly checking to see if I have another but I’m not exactly sure where I should be checking. I have also heard you can tell when you are getting ready to have one but does that come with experience or is it obvious?
