Many Pundits Believe That Regular Treatment Of Genital Warts Curb The Growth Of Human Papillomavirus

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

No treatment can eliminate human papillomavirus or HPV, the root cause behind genital warts and so the warts keep recurring even after being removed. Does that mean that undergoing treatment of genital warts is as futile as trying to catch moonbeams in a net? Not exactly that!  Methodical and persistent treatment does reduce the infectivity of the virus and put them under some sort of leash so that the recurrence of the genital warts keeps progressively decreasing. Some time of course, the genital warts regress naturally without any treatment. That is because our body’s immune system is capable of eliminating the HPV on its own. However, such phenomenon is rare.

Even though doctors prescribe different types of medicines to the sufferers and experiment certain treatment options for treatment of genital warts but the cases or reappearance still remains even after undergoing these treatments. Keeping such aspects in consideration all sufferers are advised to keep patience while getting treated for warts. They must take best precautionary steps for eliminating virus through keeping body’s metabolism and immune system strong. A famous treatment of genital warts is Podophyllin resin. This brown coloured liquid is applied on the warts for eliminating them.

There are different methods for treating genital warts. One way to treat the genital warts is to apply 20% Podophyllin anti mitotic solution on the effected area, but you should never do it yourself. This brown colour liquid is actually made from crude herbal extracts and so need to be applied in the correct amount to avoid fatal consequences. More over it should be washed off after four hours and to be frank it is very difficult to stay composed all these four hours. If you would prefer some lotions and creams that you yourself can apply, you can have podofilox prescribed for you. It is made from purified and standardized active ingredient of podophyllin and is equally effective.

Hot discussion continues whether there is complete cure for genital warts or not. Although researchers have still not come up with appropriate solution for complete cure but a section of them believe that treatment and preventive measures can eliminate genital warts. Outbreak of genital warts ascertains that sufferers are infected by the HPV virus. If one finds some means to liquidate the virus then cure for genital warts can become possible. Complication arises when doctors investigate some HPV virus sufferers have still not been attacked by warts.

If left untreated the warts may grow in size and spread over a large area. Such warts though are painless by nature become painful when irritated by contact and because of their position, they become irritated often enough. They are transmitted through sexual intercourse with an infected partner. In other words, you will get the infection only if you have genital, anal or oral sex with an infected person. You are safe as long as your sexual partner is free from HPV.

However, you can never know if your partner is carrying HPV! Only one percent of those infected with HPV grows clinically visual warts. Even those who grows, never grows them immediately. The virus on entering the body undergoes a latent period of months and years (even decades) before being manifested as warts. Therefore, you can grow genital wart even if you have been abstaining from sex for a couple of years. Keeping your rate of metabolism just right and your immune system strong is the only hope you can have. Condoms are not that helpful here because they cannot prevent total skin–to-skin contact.

In short, absence of genital warts does not mean that you are free from human papillomavirus, but its presence shows that you are and have been carrying the virus, for how long no body knows.! Any way, if you find that you have genital warts, leave all the inhibitions aside and see a doctor for proper check up. Use of genital warts cream is preferred mode of treatment for many. There are prescription creams as well as over the counter versions. Some of the later category is very effective in dealing with genital warts and the HPV infection, but the doctors will not definitely recommend them.

Sufferers can walk freely after applying genital wart cream as they don’t face hindrance after its use. They don’t feel stressed or embarrassed anymore. They get enough scope to treat genital warts in their privacy and don’t feel hesitant as no doctor is involved to check pubic areas. But here too one should consult doctors and discuss about genital warts in detail to get prescribes best quality genital warts cream.
