My husband is in the military and I gave him genital herpes type 1 from a cold sore. Can he not deploy now?

I cannot find anything about this on the internet. I have found many topics that have discussed whether people can join or not with herpes, but nothing about what happens if you get them while you are already in. He is most likely set to deploy in November, but then this happened. I’m just confused. A little help please?

Genital Warts And Stds Won’t Always Disqualify You From Army Or Other Military Service?

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

I was diagnosed with anal warts by my physician. When I went to MEPS to take my physical to get into the Army I was completely honest on the questionaire about my condition. The military doctor pulled me into his room, asked me a few questions, examined me for a minute and then cleared me for military service. I did not require a waiver, though this doesn’t necessarily mean another person wouldn’t. For me at least, I had a really bad case of anal warts and I was not disqualified. I am now a happily enlisted member of the United States Army.
This is such a relief. There is alot of bogus information out there on the internet regarding this – alot of people who don’t have a clue of what they’re talking about telling people it’s permanently disqualifying and what not. This simply IS NOT TRUE.
Does anyone else have a similar experience with STD’s and the military? Did you receieve alot of bogus information (your recruiter telling you to life for instance)?
