I read somewhere that it’s possible to get oral cancer from high risk strains of HPV. What’s the likelyhood of someone who has had an abnormal pap with high-risk HPV getting throat cancer? I’m very scared over this
You can also contract high-risk HPV through oral sex.

My doctor made is sound as if it were no big thing, we would just have exams more often. I have read that high-risk HPV is the type that is linked to cervical and other cancers. Does anyone know of any statistics on people diagnosed with high risk HPV? I am wondering why some people get cancer and others don’t.

I am 17 and suspect that I do have HPV, though my last pap in July was normal – I have to go back next year to check if there’s any abnormal cells. What are the chances of HPV turning into cervical cancer over time? Please help!
They have no way of knowing my HPV status unless I have an abnormal pap smear, which i Have not so thats why I have to wait.
