My gf is in her mid twenties and told me she gets Pap smears every 6 months. I’m not an expert, but that seems like a high frequency. Is this suggestive of having a previous condition or infection of HPV?

I started seeing this really great guy who let me be aware that he has genital warts. He got it from his ex-wife. I don’t know very much on this STD. I don’t want to catch the disease but can I safely be sexual with him. Can anyone give me some advice and information. I really don’t want to have to break up with him or give up see all together.
