I am already 24 years old and have been sexually active with the same partner for one year. They say you should get it up to age 26 – does it get less effective the older you get? I’m just trying to see if it is actually worth it since my insurance won’t pay for it – I mean, always better safe than sorry, but still, I need more details before I commit! Help!

I know that there are many different strands of HPV, and the ones that cause the warts to appear are the low risk strands. I got the pap smear test done, but I have to wait a while for the results to come in, and im soooo anxious! Please let me know!!!

does this (prostate cancer) change mens’ attitudes towards a disease they thought was just a woman’s nightmare? Notice how prevalent prostate cancer is, and notice how prevalent HPV is in men?

I’ve read about several girls and young women who’ve experienced complications and horrible side affects from the vaccine, so I’ve held off on getting it. My mom thinks I should have gotten it like a year ago already, but I am concerned about it and have procrastinated. What are your thoughts? Would you want your daughter to get the vaccine?

I thought cervical cancer was somewhat rare anyway and often caused by a virus from unprotected sex, so if you always only had protected sex, wouldn’t your chances of getting it even without the vaccine be pretty slim?

when i got my pap done they told me that it was for HPV and all other STD’s, but do they check for all types HPV or just cervical cancer?
ok…so the doctor told me they would call me if anything was abnormal or positive….so since the doctor didnt call me back, does that mean i am clear of cervical cancer or HPV?

I have been hearing alot about this on the telivison and radio. The comericals arent exactly what I would call clear though.

I read about the cervical cancer vacine and know that the vacine is against HPV strainds 6, 11, 16 and 18. Since my daughter is almost 26, I guess if she has HPV than there is no need for the vaccine any way. An HPV test would definitely tell if the vaccine would be needed in her case. Please let me know if she should have an HPV test. Thanks

I am reading allot about cancer in women with HPV. But what are the chances of warts causing cancer on a man with HPV?

Without going back to the doctor. I was diagnosed with it 8 years ago, but now I do not have health insurance, so it’s not really an option to go back right now as money is tight.

my 23yo best friend just found out she has HPV and they also found abnormal cells. They are going to run test to see if she has cervical cancer or not. What are the chances of this being cancer?
