My thesis is that there shouldn’t be any laws requiring girls to get the HPV vaccine before entering the 6th grade.

I have to write a research paper about the hpv vaccine at college level and needs to write about how the vaccine helps prevent hpv. This is for my microbiology class.

I have 2 questions..
If a person who does not have HPV/Genital warts decides to get involved in a serious monogomous relationship with a person who does have HPV/Genital Warts –

1. Is it safe to say that the uninfected person will definitely aquire the STI somewhere down the line whether or not they use a condom?

and

2. Can the couple ever perform oral sex together?

When people tell me about genital wart outbreaks, I’m not sure what they mean. What brings these outbreaks on? What do they look like? If I pick at them, will they bleed or pus? Do they hurt? Do they go away on their own?

My fiance told me recently that her doctor has determined that she is positive with the Hpv virus. I dont even know what this is.
She did tell me that its what makes her susceptible to cervical cancer. We have not been relating sexually and wont till marriage. Do I need to be concerned? Is this a transmittable disease?

My gf is in her mid twenties and told me she gets Pap smears every 6 months. I’m not an expert, but that seems like a high frequency. Is this suggestive of having a previous condition or infection of HPV?

I am spposed to be writing a six page paper about the HPV vaccine and why it should be mandated. My mind went blank. Can any one give me any facts or interesting points on this issue?

HPV causes genital warts and can lead to cancer in some cases, but it is not the same thing as HIV. I think some people who are ignorant of the diseases tend to subconsciously overreact to hearing the acronym HPV, confusing it with HIV. Don’t you wish there was another acronym for HPV?
I wasn’t asking why people freak out about HPV, but if they have a stronger reaction to the acronym due to its similarity to HIV.

The HPV vaccine is being mandated for chidren in grade school, entering the seventh grade. This is a vaccine that can potentially prevent cervical cancer. It also protects against HPV which is an STD. What do you think about this requirement?

I think this is a TOTAL, total no-brainer, since men basically carry and spread HPV around and aren’t regularly tested for it like women are with PAPs, but what are your thoughts?
