Usually you get the STD trichomoniasis from sleeping with someone who already has it. But has anyone gotten this STD by something else?

i got it from the toilet seat. that’s my story and i’m sticking to it.

Me personally, no. I have read that there have been a few cases of trichomoniasis being developed by women who used public baths, hot tubs and saunas. The idea is that those places are warm and moist environments where the parasite can exist for a while outside a body. Of course, it involves being naked and coming into direct exposure, so it would be a rare way to obtain the infection. Since the ladies can actually have the infection for some time and not have symptoms, and the men in their lives can carry it and also have no clue- it’s very hard in some cases to say it was not a sexually transmitted disease. It is so rare, in fact, that for the most part it is still considered to be only an STD. You would really have to work hard to prove it was not.
